New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern intends to resign.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made the stunning announcement that she will be stepping down on Thursday...

Ardern, 42, told her party's annual caucus that it is "time" for her to go on and that she "no longer had enough in the tank" to be prime minister.

A general election has also been scheduled for October 14th.

I'm going because such a fantastic position comes with huge responsibility," Ardern explained to the crowd.

In 2017, Ardern, 37, became the world's youngest female leader. Her last day will be February 7th.

Ardern has had a hectic six years, dealing with disasters such as the COVID-19 pandemic,

a volcanic eruption, and terrorist attacks on two Christchurch mosques.
