California’s third mass shooting: One person was killed and seven were injured in the Oakland incident, California’s third mass shooting in three days.

In a shooting that happened in Oakland, California, on Monday night, seven additional individuals were hurt in addition to the one who died.

According to a statement from the Oakland Police Department, the shooting took place in the 5900 block of Macarthur Boulevard around 6 o’clock local time. It occurred just hours after the massacre in Half Moon Bay, California when at least seven people were slain (OPD).

California’s third mass shooting in three days: Officers from the OPD were sent to the location to look into a ShotSpotter activation, per the statement. “Officers discovered a shootout between multiple individuals over the course of the inquiry. Officers arrived on location and discovered six casings but no victims.”

Soon after, the OPD Communications Division began getting reports of many gunshot wound victims arriving at various area hospitals on their own recognizance.

“At this moment, we are aware of eight casualties, one of whom has died, and the remaining victims are in stable condition,” the OPD stated.

The motive for this shooting has not yet been revealed by authorities.

It’s been just three days since California has seen its third mass shooting.

The identity of the deceased victim is being hidden from the public for the time being while authorities try to notify their next of kin before revealing any more information.

Earlier in the day, about 40 miles southeast of Oakland, seven people were killed in a shooting at two different places in Half Moon Bay, California.
